The road to becoming a complete pressure washing service all started for Elegant Estates in 1996 when I graduated from our local Lansing High School. During my high school years, I had a job working for the well known Rose Inn just minutes from my house. It was a groundskeeping gig that included installing landscaping, paver patios, and walkways. It was then that I realized what I wanted to pursue as a career. After high school, I went on to further my education at the State University of New York at Morrisville where I studied landscape design and construction. I continued that education back home at Cornell University where I majored in Plant Science and minored in Business.

I received a lot of practical as well as book knowledge from college. While attending Cornell, I founded Elegant Estates and gained plenty of hands-on experience.  I also learned what the industry was lacking; a reliable paver patio and paver sidewalk contractor.

So, I set out to do some research. I located certification courses that were offered by ICPI (Interlocking Concrete Pavement Institute), and NCMA (National Concrete Masonry Association). These organizations taught contractors and staff how to properly install pavers and retaining wall systems. This was the tipping point for Elegant Estates as a company.

I quickly realized that our niche in the local industry would be to design and install paver projects the correct way. With our staff quickly onboard we learned that the installation of these systems was a strict science. Who knew that in order to install a paver sidewalk you needed to know such specifics?  Variables like soil structure, base gradation, moisture content, setting bed grade, aspect ratio and density of your pavers became common knowledge to us.  We also became experts at analyzing site conditions in order to deal with issues like grade and water concerns.

After realizing our niche, our company committed to certifying all our foremen through ICPI and NCMA who installed stonework. We've reached a level of accreditation that very few paver contractors can, or have, achieved. We have secured certifications in standard paver, permeable paver, and segmental retaining wall installations. Maintaining these certifications require many hours of class time each year. This kept crews ahead of the curve when it comes to paver trends, installation methods and product availability. All to the benefit of our clients!

After more than two decades of installing beautiful backyard patios and outdoor living spaces, we have shifted our focus once again to another desperate homeowner need - the cleaning and maintenance of those areas by way of a qualified pressure washing service.  We then set our sights on building out our custom cleaning equipment in order to service hundreds of our past and current clients. That journey of equipment design, construuction, and staff training has led us all over america to make sure we have the best equipment and best training to handle all of your wash needs.
